Instead of Tom, Just Call Him DADDY!

I had to check and double check to make sure I was seeing what I thought I saw, and reading what I thought I read… since I’m about two screwdrivers in I decided to read it a third time, and….. Nope. The words absolutely have not changed.

After dating Tom Hiddleston for three years, through the pandemic, among other things, Ms Zawe Ashton was seen sporting an absolutely stunning diamond ring on the third finger of her left hand at the 2022 BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards, which she attended with a rather pleased and slightly stunned-looking Tom, but it was a further 3 months before Tom finally confirmed the engagement on June 14, 2022.

And now, less than two weeks later… You guessed it! Zawe is sporting a rather large, and impossible to hide, baby bump at the New York premier of her new movie, Mr. Malcom’s List, just this evening. So there you have it, you heard it here first…

And may we, here at Deppheads and Hiddlestoners (Jenn, Kary, Barry, and Fae), be among the first to congradulate the happy couple. To a happy marriage and a healthy child(ren)! Wishing Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton the best on all of their exciting news!

Check out the podcast next week for an in depth look at Zawe.

Hiddleston, Tom Hiddleston

On other movie news, it has long been rumored that Tom’s in the running to be the next James Bond since Daniel Craig has stepped down from that lofty pedestal, right along side such names as Idris Elba, Rege-Jean Page and Tom Hardy. Hiddleston fans, such as myself, hold our collective breath and keep our fingers and toes crossed that our beloved Brit will indeed be awarded that honor most high.

It is obvious to me, though, from a 2021 interview with Tom on the subject of 007, if the actors know which one has been chosen, they are certainly not telling. Tom is quoted as saying, “What can I say that you don’t already know? It’s interesting in itself that I’ve suddenly become very aware of what I’m saying, is it not? Because there’s something about what I’m saying that becomes the story. Not for you, but for the world outside. Whatever I say, I’ve found generated more questions.”

Sounds like a lot of misdirection and slickly avoiding the question, to me. Idris Elba was a bit more straightforward, not about whether the part had been offered to him, but that he wouldn’t take it if it was. “I am 50 this year.” He’s quoted as saying. “Let’s say you sign up for three films – nobody wants to see Bond giving chase or beating up bad guys when he’s 60. I am probably too old to take on the role now.”

I beg to differ, Idris. Does the name Sean Connery ring any bells? Anyway, best of luck to Tom. For a British actor, Bond is the pinnacle, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving!

It Can’t Rain All The Time

Sorry this post took so long- I wanted to make sure I had all the facts straight before I posted.

So, they’ve been working on a reboot of the Crow since the first was such a success. The original, starring the late, great Brandon Lee, came out in 1994. Some were surprised it was released at all, considering Brandon died from a malfunctioning prop gun while filming. But release it they did, to most everyone’s delight. Since then, fans have been salivating for a sequel.

One of the many setbacks this sequel has had to deal with is who will star in it, and who will direct it. In 2013, they thought they had found the perfect pairing. F. Javier Gutierrez directing, and – one of your favorites and mine – Tom Hiddleston Starring. Tom, however, had other plans and bowed out of the project before it could even get underway. He gave no reasons, but 2013 was the year he was out and about, promoting Thor: Dark World for Marvel. One of the many reasons he won 2013’s E! Online Celebrity of the Year Award.

Congrats on the award, Tom, but damn! You would have made a sexy, menacing, beautiful, terrifying Crow. Just as Brandon Lee was.

The conclusion of our foray into Johnny Depp’s love life. Kate Moss, Vanessa Paradis, and the unfortunate Amber Heard. Ins and outs, ups and downs, make ups and break ups. We’ve got it all!

See why Pine distrusts Corky! Understand why Corky distrusts Pine! Decipher the meaning behind all the plant based aliases! (Not really, but it would be nice, wouldn’t it?) And, finally, see Jed’s ultimate sacrifice to love!

It’s the End of the World as We Know It (But Tom Feels Fine!)

Well, it’s finally official- Tom Hiddleston is soon to be completely off the market. The absolutely stunning diamond that Zawe Ashton has been sporting for a bit is indeed the dreaded engagement ring. Dreaded to those of us still harboring deep, quietly desperate dreams of a life with this god-come-to-Earth, wanting a chance to stake a claim on our own, personal mischief maker. Alas, that is just not to be.

But seriously, we here at Deppheads and Hiddlestoners want to wish Tom and Zawe all the best. In truth, they seem perfectly suited for one another, and I, for one, am incredibly happy that Tom seems to have found his missing puzzle piece. So here’s to the newly engaged couple; may every day start with sunshine and warm kisses, and end with firelight and snuggles. What more could you really want out of life?

JUSTICE FOR JOHNNY DEPP

Finally! We all knew it was just a matter of time, but finally, the whole world knows the truth. Johnny Depp has been publicly vindicated, and all of Amber Heard’s lies are coming back to bite her in the ass. Johnny won his defamation suit against her, securing $15 million instead of the requested $50 million, but really, this trial was not about the money, at its heart. It was about clearing Johnny’s name, and removing the stigma of abuser from his name.

Those of us, and I proudly count myself among the millions, who never doubted his word (not to mention the FACTS) also celebrate this victory, for we have been vindicated as well.

I, for one, never doubted him, and am, as always, pleased and proud to be counted among his loyal fans. And after 6 long years we finally get the satisfaction of seeing JUSTICE FOR JOHNNY DEPP!!!!!!!!!!
